About NZ Pathology
NZ Pathology is the collective voice of New Zealand’s private sector laboratory providers, representing the views and aspirations of the funded pathology sector.
The New Zealand Association of Pathology Practices Incorporated (trading as NZ Pathology) was established in 1991 to provide a common platform for addressing the challenges and opportunities within community pathology service provision. The association is committed to fostering the highest standards of pathology practice in laboratories across Aotearoa.
NZ Pathology supports private sector pathology providers by advocating for their interests in national healthcare discussions, ensuring that their contributions are recognised and valued within New Zealand’s health system.
The organisation works closely with healthcare stakeholders and policymakers to secure sustainable contracts and improve service delivery, helping private laboratories maintain their crucial role in providing high-quality diagnostic services to communities across the country. Through this support, NZ Pathology ensures that private sector providers can continue to innovate and offer world-class pathology services that are both patient-centered and essential to the future of healthcare in New Zealand.
